Discover Serenity & Wisdom

Discover the Path to Inner Harmony
and Embrace Tranquility

The Sri Lanka Ramanya Maha Nikaya, associated with the Sri Kalyani Yogasrama Sansthawa, was founded on a commitment to the original teachings of the Lord Buddha. From humble beginnings, we have grown into a global community dedicated to the practice of meditation, the study of the Dhamma, and the cultivation of a simple, mindful life.

The Threefold Training

Cultivate Wisdom

Sīla — Ethical Conduct

The foundation of the path cultivating wholesome actions of body and speech, guided by the five precepts and the monastic Vinaya.

Samādhi — Concentration

Through mindfulness of breathing and walking meditation, the mind is trained to rest in deep stillness, clarity, and peace.

Paññā — Wisdom

The fruit of sustained practice direct insight into impermanence, suffering, and non-self, leading to liberation.

Monastic Tradition

A Life of Simplicity and Awakening

The Monastic Tradition seeks to emulate the life of the Buddha and his first disciples, who lived simple lives in the wilderness dedicated to the practice of meditation.

Mindfulness

A Rhythm of Mindfulness

Daily Life in the Monastery

Life in the monastery is a continuous practice of mindfulness. The daily routine cultivates awareness, simplicity, and wisdom from pre-dawn chanting at 4:00 AM through to evening meditation.

Every activity – the morning alms round, the communal meal, Dhamma study and walking meditation is an opportunity to practise the Dhamma.
